A flier for a performance by Raymond/Libby Reynolds, a female impersonator working in Greenwich Village. The top portion of the flier is a reprint from the gossip magazine Confidential about Reynolds' impersonation "fooling" the actor Raymond Burr, who starred in the television show Perry Mason and Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. Burr's presence as a closeted gay man in a bohemian Greenwich Village bar casts some doubt on the article's framing. This item comes from the Vicki Marlane Papers at the GLBT Historical Society. Vicki Marlane (1934-2011) was a legendary San Francisco drag queen and transgender woman. Marlane had a long career; starting in the 1950s, she performed as a female impersonator, stripper, and carnival sideshow performer, and she continued to perform in drag almost until her death in 2011. In her last decades, Marlane led the Hot Boxx Girls, the in-house drag troupe at Aunt Charlie's Lounge. Her connection to Reynolds, if any, is unknown.
