University of Waterloo Library, Special Collections & Archives

Founded in 1976, Special Collections & Archives (SCA) acquires and makes available rare and distinctive collections that support research, teaching and learning at the University of Waterloo. The department holds early editions and rare books, collections of archives and manuscripts, and other material that requires special care and handling because of its early publication date, provenance, physical condition, aesthetic value, or unusual format. Collection strengths include Gender, Sexuality, and Social Justice, Local History, Women’s Studies, and the history of the University of Waterloo.
