One wears a badge 'Baltic 1918', whence this newly- built ship was bound in the autumn of 1918 to assist White Russians during the Russian Civil War.The two black-face figures in centre and top left are wearing make-up copied from the famous music-hall clown 'Chirgwin', billed as 'The White Eyed Kaffir'
