Dona Ewing is a white transsexual woman from Crookston, Minnesota. This is the second of two interviews between Jenkins and Ewing held in the Tretter Transgender Oral History Project. At the time of this interview, Ewing was retired and living in the Minneapolis. In this oral history, Ewing speaks at length about drag she performed under the name "Dona Dawn" accompanied with pictures she held up to the camera. She also talks about her how living in a nursing home makes her feel, travelling, historic gay bars in the Twin Cities, her friends, and the other people in her cohort at the University of Minnesota's Program of Human Sexuality. Lastly, she also touches upon meeting both Christine Jorgensen and RuPaul.
