An interview conducted by Gareth Watkins in which Georgina Beyer shares details about her life from her early childhood to transitioning as a young adult, and then becoming a politician. In 1995, Beyer became the first openly transgender mayor in the world; she then became the first transgender Member of Parliament in 1999. Before starting her career in politics, Beyer was active in the nightlife scene in New Zealand and pursued an acting career as a young adult.
