Digital Transgender Archive
In an interview with Anna Keyes, trans woman Carla Roldos talks about her experiences transitioning and becoming a member of the trans community in New York City. Roldos specifically discusses the role of a “gay mother” that role models played for her, and that she played for others in transition. In addition to dealing with some mental health issues and personal loss, Roldos commented on the difficulties she faced with employment discrimination as a registered nurse.
