One of a collection of 6 hand-colored engraved military caricatures by and after Heath. 'An attractive young lady, Louisa Woolford, is being dressed in the uniform of a lancer by two others; two men in uniform, one of whom is probably identifiable as John Esdaile Widdicombe, leer at the scene through a window on the right; on the wall behind, to left, is a map of the "Isle of Man"'. -- British Museum. Louisa Woolford was a circus performer who specialized in equestrian feats.
