This collection's creator (1927-2001), who went by Francis or Francine Hill depending on gender presentation, was born in Spokane, Washington and lived in Seattle. This collection contains photographs of Hill and friends in both masculine and feminine wear; subjects include professional female impersonators as well as people who appear to be attending private parties en femme. Venues include The Double Header in Pioneer Square (Seattle's oldest gay bar), as well the Casino Pool Room, nicknamed Madame Peabody's Dance Academy, in the basement of the Double Header.
