Digital Transgender Archive
Reed Erickson (1917-1992) was a transgender philanthropist and activist. This collection includes ten photographs and five scrapbooks compiled by Erickson, with content provided by a clipping service. The photos range from approximately 1928 to approximately 1969, including portraits of Erickson as an adult and a teenager, while others feature him with his family, friends, or pet leopard. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings from 1966-1983 and feature discussions of transgender experiences in the news, especially relating to the legal and medical aspects of transition.
