Chang is a board member and section editor for Trans Bodies, Trans Selves, and co-founder of The Gender Affirming Letter Access Project (The GALAP), a movement to make mental health letters for trans health care financially accessible. In this oral history interview, Chang describes their journey into trans healthcare as a field, and their work as an advocate within the field. Chang describes the barriers faced by trans and non-binary individuals seeking gender affirming healthcare, and the resistance on the part of practitioners to the kinds of changes for which activists were advocating.
